(FORT WORTH, Texas) – Dollamur Sport Surfaces (Dollamur) – the world's leading manufacturer of high-performance sports flooring for mixed martial arts, martial arts, wrestling, gymnastics, cheerleading and yoga – today announces its partnership with American mixed martial artist (MMA) and former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis for 2016.
Currently ranked the No. 3 lightweight in UFC, Pettis is a dominant force in MMA. Since making his professional debut in 2007, he boasts an 18-4 record. In addition to his impressive resume as a competitor, he also owns a few high-caliber MMA gyms.
Recently, Pettis opened his newest facility in Milwaukee, Wis., "Pettis Martial Arts," which is equipped with Dollamur's Flexi-Connect® mats, featuring a seamless and tapeless design unique to the brand that vastly reduces setup time. He also owns Roufusport MMA Academy, which is outfitted with Dollamur surfaces. The easy-to-clean signature mats use high-density lightweight foam to cushion falls and takedowns. Surfaces are available in two vinyl types – smooth or tatami – making it the most practical MMA mat for athletes of all abilities.
"I’m excited to partner with Dollamur, who – hands down – manufactures the best sports surfaces in the world," says Pettis, a native of Milwaukee. "It's comforting knowing that my gyms are equipped with high-quality, durable and safe mats which provide our members with the peace-of-mind to compete at the top level."
Dollamur mats have a monumental presence in UFC Gyms across 36 states, ranging from 5,000 to 35,000 square feet facilities. The elite foam surface is pivotal in protecting thousands of MMA athletes each year.
"Anthony is a world-renowned athlete and we look forward to supplying his gym with the golden standard of MMA mats," says Mike Swain, Dollamur Vice President of Martial Arts and four-time USA Judo Olympian. "With a larger audience globally than the NFL, MMA is one of the fastest growing sports with nearly a 20 percent increase in the last two years and this is attributed to UFC icons like Anthony."
As a member of Dollamur’s Athlete Advisory Council, Pettis will make athlete appearances for Dollamur and contribute to social media posts.
