(FORT WORTH, Texas) – Dollamur Sport Surfaces (Dollamur) – the world's leading manufacturer of high-performance sports flooring for martial arts, mixed martial arts, wrestling, gymnastics, cheerleading and yoga – today launches its #MatMoment contest to support American mixed martial artist (MMA) and former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight Champion Johny "Bigg Rigg" Hendricks.
Social media users are asked a simple question: "What is Your #MatMoment?" This memory could be winning a competition, training for a big event, or something as simple as a daily exercise routine. For example, Hendricks' #MatMoment was capturing the UFC Welterweight title in 2014 at UFC 171 over Robbie Lawler.
"I am excited to collaborate with Dollamur to launch this campaign, which aims to generate awareness of MMA and wrestling through social media users sharing fond memories from the mat," says Hendricks, a native of Ada, Okla. "From the first time an athlete steps foot on a high-quality Dollamur surface, moments are made and they deserved to be shared with other competitors.”
To kick off its contest, Dollamur is offering a grand prize trip to Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas which includes a meet-and-greet with Hendricks and a complimentary MMA lesson. Additional weekly prizes, such as autographed memorabilia, will be awarded to contestants based on originality and impact of message. A panel of judges will utilize this criterion to determine winners.
To be considered, below are two easy ways to enter:
2. Answer “What is your #MatMoment?” by including “#MatMoment #Contest" in a supportive message to Johny as he trains for his upcoming fight
The contest begins at 1:30 p.m. CDT on April 5, 2017 and ends at 12 midnight CDT on May 24, 2017.
"We are thrilled to support Johny's continued success in MMA, which receives more viewers globally than the National Football League, through this dynamic contest," says Dave Rossi, Dollamur Senior Vice President. "This presents a unique opportunity to thank our loyal customers, give back to the community and promote the growth of MMA and wrestling across America."
A member of Dollamur’s Athlete Advisory Council, Hendricks is currently 1-0 in the middleweight division of the UFC. He is slated to fight Tim Boetsch on June 25 at UFC Fight Night 112 at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Okla.
